Easy-to-use personal search and rescue locator!
When things don’t go as planned, Nautilus LifeLine is there to help when the unexpected happens. Things like storms, navigation errors, currents, dive emergencies, or boat engine problems are just a few scenarios that could cause someone to get lost or separated at sea.
In an emergency, quickly getting attention and calling for help is crucial. The Nautilus Marine Rescue GPS communicates your man overboard alert or routine position update (your choice) directly to boats, ships, and rescue craft around you.
The Nautilus LifeLine uses VHF radio waves to send digital signals to all vessels equipped with AIS (Automatic Identification System) and DSC (Digital Selective Calling) within rescue range.
Whether you’re a scuba diver, sailor, kayaker, or paddleboarder, the Nautilus LifeLine is an essential addition to your safety kit!
Send a distress signal or routine position update to nearby boats.
Distress Alert
When a distress signal is sent, the LifeLine will continuously transmit your distress signal with your position until deactivated. Vessels and rescue craft within range (up to 34 miles or ~55 km, depending on the height of the receiver’s antenna) will receive a “Man Overboard” alert, including your latitude and longitude coordinates accurate to 1 meter.
The “Man Overboard” alert tells rescuers they are looking for a person on the surface. This distinction is crucial, as it saves valuable time in an emergency.
Position Advisory
The benefit of this option is that it removes the conflict you might feel if you’re concerned that you haven’t been seen but are hesitant to trigger a full-blown search. It sends your coordinates and a “Position Alert” message to nearby boats without activating an emergency distress signal. If your boat is on the lookout, they’ll know where to find you!
Should your circumstances become critical, you can always fall back on the red button and “Distress Alert”.
