Description

1800 lumens of white light. 5mW green laser. Two completely different tools, one dive torch.

The NR-1800L is built around a simple idea: a green laser does things a white LED cannot. At distance, in low visibility, or in the dark, a green laser cuts through the water column in a way that no amount of lumens can match. Point it at a subject 10 metres away and every diver in your group knows exactly what you’re pointing at. No waving, no confusion, no missed shots.

Dive guides use it to direct attention. Underwater photographers use it to tip off their buddy to a subject before the strobes fire. Hunters use it to mark the lobster in the back of the ledge while they set up the approach. It’s not a gimmick — it’s a communication tool that works where nothing else does.

The white LED side is 1800 lumens through a 6° spot beam — the same focused, penetrating output as the NR-1800. 80 minutes at full power. Six modes: 100%, 50%, 25%, Blink, SOS, Strobe. The laser and the LED are independently controlled, so you can run the laser for pointing while keeping the white light on for illumination.

When the Green Laser Changes Everything

Underwater communication is mostly hand signals and hope. A green laser removes the ambiguity. The beam is visible at distance in open water, doesn’t spook marine life the way a bright white light does, and cameras will pick it up in video footage — so you’ll see the pointer clearly in your footage, not just a mystery gesture.

Green is also the wavelength human eyes are most sensitive to underwater, making it exceptionally visible to your dive buddies even at range. Note: the laser is a pinpoint pointer beam — it’s a communication and signalling tool, not a camera focus light. For focus assist on a camera rig, the green mode on Kraken’s WRGBU video lights (Hydra 5000, Hydra 10000, etc.) is what you want.
